Description:

Job Summary:
Aptive Resources is seeking a skilled Senior Programmer to join our team and support the Specialty Care Program Office (SCPO) within the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). The Senior Programmer will be responsible for developing, implementing, enhancing, maintaining, and supporting new and existing applications to automate workflows and processes for designated SCPO directorates, initiatives, programs, or projects.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Application Development: Develop, test, implement, enhance, maintain, and support applications to automate workflows and processes. Utilize expertise in Microsoft Power Automate, Microsoft PowerApps, and the full suite of applications related to automation to meet SCPO’s needs effectively.
  • Application Integration: Integrate applications with related tools, databases, and data sets to ensure seamless functionality and data flow.
  • Application Mapping: Develop application maps that identify inputs, outputs, data sources, frequency of updates, and internal controls to ensure clarity and alignment within the project scope and objectives.
  • Technical Expertise: Demonstrate proficiency in the full suite of Microsoft applications, non-Microsoft applications related to automation (e.g., Salesforce, RedHat products), and newly released applications and software.
  • User-Friendly Design: Ensure applications are user-friendly and intuitive, considering the needs and capabilities of end-users.
  • Security and Permissions: Implement restrictions and user permissions to maintain data integrity and security.
  • Training and Documentation: Develop administrator and end-user guides and associated training presentations. Provide administrator and end-user trainings, including recordings, to facilitate effective utilization of applications.
  • Technical Support and Maintenance: Provide ongoing technical support, maintenance, enhancements, and updates to all contractor-developed and contractor-modified applications. Facilitate the transfer of management to the Government upon conclusion of the project.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • At least eight years of relevant experience required
  • Proven experience in application development, particularly in automation and workflow optimization.
  • In-depth knowledge and expertise in Microsoft Power Automate, Microsoft PowerApps, and related automation technologies.
  • Familiarity with the full suite of Microsoft applications, non-Microsoft applications related to automation, and emerging technologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic team environment.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in healthcare or government contracting.
  • Familiarity with VA or other government agency processes and systems.
  • Certification in relevant programming languages or technologies.
