About the OPPORTUNITY
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Project Accountant to join our team based in Adelaide or Melbourne reporting to the Accounting Manager.
We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight and hybrid working.
As a Senior Project Accountant, you will support the Finance Manager in maintaining the financial functions within the project to ensure integrity and transparency of financial data to facilitate planning and decision-making.

Responsibilities:

  • Support key program customer financial deliverables, including biannual Commonwealth budgets, allowable Cost Reviews, and other customer assurance activities.
  • Support mobilisation activities including process, reporting set up, and governance
  • Provide accurate and relevant project financial performance reporting with commentary, including risk & opportunities and EVM.
  • Co-ordinate and assist in the preparation and review of the project annual budgets, 5 year IBP, monthly re-forecast
  • Ensure compliance to corporate guidelines, policies and procedures as well as accounting standards and legislation
  • Contributing to the modernisation of Project Finance and delivery of continuous improvement
  • Delivery of cash management and cash forecasting, including foreign currency management
  • Provide assistance to Finance Manager and Accounting Managers as required, in the effective and profitable delivery of customer projects in all Finance aspects of the project life cycle

About YOU

  • A degree qualification
  • A member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (Chartered Accountant), CPA Australia or CA
  • Experience with project and business reporting including forecasting.
  • Experience with governance compliance including audit
  • The ability to work collaboratively with internal stakeholders and members of the broader finance team
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Previous experience in a large project environment (desirable)
