As a Senior Project Engineer in the Energy Solutions team, you’ll be at the forefront of this renewable energy revolution, leading the design and technical sign-off for large and complex hybrid energy system projects for our commercial and industrial customers that harness the power of the sun and sustainable technologies. Leading and inspiring teams to problem solve and engineer best design, new innovation and continual improvement, you’ll be driving projects that reduce carbon footprints and create a more sustainable world.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Developing and managing safe designs for Energy Solutions hybrid energy systems (HES) projects (inc. Solar PV, Energy Storage systems and microgrids) to comply with relevant industry and WHS standards, and meeting deadlines required for project execution from inception to installation and commissioning.
  • Developing scope of works, engaging and coordinating with external multi-disciplinary engineering consultants to deliver on all required engineering design deliverables to meet project scope.
  • Engaging with suppliers and undertaking tender processes for procurement of major materials and components on projects.
  • Assisting the Project Delivery Team to resolve technical issues encountered during the installation and adjust designs and drawings as needed and communicating with Project Team, Installers and Customers as required.
  • Maintaining dates for Scheduled and Actual Delivery Dates for Engineering related project steps including drawings development, Bill of material, embedded generation application and quality assurance and Conduct Project Sign-Off and Safety Walks to ensure safe and quality installations as part of the Project Delivery Team.
  • Working cross-functionally with Sales, Delivery and Engineering through the bid management/contract execution process,

What you’ll bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and either Chartered or working towards Chartership with Engineers Australia (or equivalent in other countries), coupled with PV Design Accreditation, Stand Alone Power Systems Design Accreditation.
  • Experience in design and construction of ground mount solar PV systems greater than 3MW with high voltage connections as well as microgrid systems, including integration into existing distributed energy resources.
  • Experience working in cross disciplinary delivery teams, taking the lead engineering role and demonstrating commitment to a culture of health and safety.
  • Knowledge and experience with relevant design and engineering software (AutoCad, PowerCad, PVSyst).
  • Well-developed, detail orientated organization skills and good interpersonal and written / verbal communication skills.
