Our client is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to independently manage and lead a team in the management of a greenfield project portfolio. This role involves full cycle project management through completion, overseeing a number of scale-up related functions such as concept design, site selection, EPC & vendor partnerships, technology/equipment selection, detailed engineering, procurement & construction, and commissioning. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the process safety and hazard analysis in the facility, process safety focal point, PHA/HAZOP, reactive chemicals audits and layers of protection analysis (LOPA).

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

As a Senior Project Engineer, you will play an integral role in managing a diverse portfolio of projects. You will be responsible for developing comprehensive project plans that align with business goals. Your role will involve monitoring budgets, identifying risks and implementing mitigation strategies. You will also prepare regular progress reports and maintain effective communication with all stakeholders. Your ability to evaluate proposed changes to project scope, schedule and budget will be crucial in this role. Furthermore, your collaboration with procurement and legal teams will ensure compliance with project requirements. Lastly, your commitment to implementing quality assurance processes will ensure that project deliverable meet industry standards.

• Develop and implement project control procedures, including scheduling, progress tracking, and cost control.
• Monitor project budgets, expenditures, and forecasts.
• Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies.

The ideal candidate for the Senior Project Engineer role is a proven leader with a track record of EPC / EPCm project execution in greenfield capital projects. With a minimum of 15 years’ experience in project engineering/project management, you have successfully taken projects from concept to start-up. Your experience executing large-scale industrial projects involving the manufacturing and processing of chemicals or polymers will be invaluable in this role. Your skills in techno-economic analysis, trade-off studies and financial evaluation are essential for success in this position. Lastly, your strong background in chemicals/polymers plant projects, contracts development and administration, project controls, and quality management will set you apart.

• B.S. in Engineering required. Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or Chemical focus preferred.
• Minimum 15 years project engineering/project management experience (from FEED to Commissioning).
• Preferably from oil and gas, petrochemical, or other chemical manufacturing.
• Experience executing large-scale industrial projects involving the manufacturing and processing of chemicals or polymers plant.
• Techno-economic analysis, trade-off studies and financial evaluation skills are essential.
• Must have a strong background in chemicals/polymers projects, contracts development and administration, project controls, and quality management
