Our Automation & Digitalization division seeks a Senior Project Manager to successfully lead our automation and electrification projects. In addition to their solid understanding of automation and electrification technologies, the Senior Project Manager has excellent project management skills, and a proven record of delivering projects on time, within budget, and to the satisfaction of clients.
The location of the position is flexible and we would welcome the right candidate in any of our BC offices: Nanaimo, Richmond, Prince George, or Terrace. Relocation may be available.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Lead automation and electrification projects from inception to completion, ensuring that project goals, timelines, and budgets are met.
Experienced technical design leads will be assigned according to the project execution plan presented by the Senior Project Manager.
Project administration and financial control will be provided as it is required
Procurement assistance shall be provided to support the acquisition of equipment
Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, budgets, and resourcing, including managing the procurement of necessary equipment and materials.
Define project objectives, scope, and success criteria in collaboration with stakeholders, including identifying opportunities for additional automation and electrification scope within the project.
Manage project risks and issues, including developing contingency plans and mitigating strategies, and communicating progress and challenges to stakeholders and senior leadership.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, and supply chain, to ensure alignment and timely delivery of project milestones.
Establish and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including clients, vendors, and internal teams, to ensure effective communication and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.
Provide regular project status updates to stakeholders and senior leadership, including presenting project plans, budgets, and schedules.
Mentor and coach junior project managers and team members on best practices and methodologies.
Drive continuous improvement of project management processes and tools, including identifying lessons learned and presenting them.
Assist with the development of proposals. All proposals should satisfy all key responsibilities detailed herein.
Ensure compliance with ANDRITZ Quality Systems.

When selecting candidates, we will be looking for the following:
Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Engineering with a focus on automation and electrification technologies.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in project management, with a proven track record of delivering automation and electrification projects on time and within budget.
Consulting engineering experience is an asset; preferably in industrial engineering.
Experience in the pulp and paper or mining industries is an asset.
Registered as an EIT or P.Eng., or AScT in British Columbia
Strong understanding of automation, controls, and electrification technologies, including knowledge of industry standards, best practices, and emerging trends.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate project risks and issues.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Proficient in project management tools, including MS Project, or equivalent
Legally entitled to work in Canada
Ability and willingness to travel to domestic and international sites
Salary Range: 120,000 to 150,000 based on a 37.5-hour work week
