This role offers the opportunity to leverage internal resources across global teams and develop a locally based transport infrastructure team.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Over 10 years of experience managing the delivery of complex multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects.
  • Chartered Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers or appropriate professional body.
  • Intimate knowledge of Highways England’s and/or Network Rail’s processes and deliverables.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Significant experience in the UK bridges/transportation sector.
  • Proficiency in relevant design standards and codes, including Eurocodes, DMRB, SHW, and Network Rail standards.
  • Experience delivering multidisciplinary projects through the Network Rail GRIP stages.
  • Familiarity with the Development Consent Order (DCO) process.
  • Experience in delivering Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) or design and build projects.
  • Proven track record of working with key clients and stakeholders in the transportation sector.

Responsibilities:

Project Delivery: Successfully manage the delivery of complex multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects, from inception to detailed design and construction support. Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Technical Leadership: Serve as the technical lead on transportation structures and bridge projects, including refurbishment projects. Provide guidance and mentorship to project teams on structural analysis, feasibility studies, tender designs, and detailed designs.
Team Development: Develop and lead a locally based transport infrastructure team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence. Mentor and motivate team members, providing technical and administrative support as needed.
Client Engagement: Cultivate strong relationships with clients, colleagues, and external agencies. Lead client-facing roles, prepare technical and commercial bids, and win work through effective communication and relationship building.
Commercial Acumen: Demonstrate commercial acumen in preparing proposals, managing project budgets, and consistently delivering significant projects to program and budget. Take ownership of multiple projects, managing risks and ensuring financial and contractual compliance.
