Responsibilities:

This role interfaces with teams within Auckland Transport and Waka Kotahi for a one network, one customer approach in delivering the EMIP improvement projects. It also incluces interfaces & collaboration with other partner agencies including and not limited to Auckland Emergency Management, ASM, Metservice, Auckland Council etc.

  • Establishing programme oversight of EMIP and developing programme cadence.
  • Progress and performance reporting to ATOC’s Joint Management Board and other leadership forums
  • Working collaboratively with multitude of teams and groups across AT, Waka Kotahi and other partner agencies to identify solutions to implement EMIP recommendations.
  • Leading and engaging in development of project management best practice and project/ programme management framework within EMIP
  • Managing assigned budgets for EMIP and applying fiscal stewardshi

To be successful in this role you will need -

  • Tertiary qualification in an industry recognised field (Project or Programme Management, Engineering)
  • Prior experience/Certifications in Agile or Six Sigma or similar
  • Relevant postgraduate or professional qualification (PMP, PRINCE 2 or equivalent)
  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience in project management in a complex organisation
  • Experience in developing and applying programme and project cadence as well as evidence of project delivery
  • Good understanding and appreciation of Emergency Management
  • Good understanding of Auckland Transport and Waka Kotahi and workings of government agencies
  • High level of resilience and persistence with ability to manage challenging, ambiguous and complex issues calmly and logicall
