YOUR CREDENTIALS AND CAPABILITIES

Simplify complex project scopes into manageable parts; identify key milestones and develop process to achieve these goals.

  • Disseminate practices, policies, procedures, and context on project/program development to internal and external clients.
  • Foster effective working relationships between colleagues, associates, clients, and officials.
  • Provide expertise/guidance to internal and external clients to resolve problems and issues.

Effective Knowledge:

  • Possess broad general knowledge of electrical, industrial, and utility power projects, including strong familiarity with multiple disciplines such as civil, structural, and electrical engineering, environmental services, surveying, and geomatics, and permitting, to effectively complete projects.
  • Provide innovative, practical, and economical solutions.
  • Demonstrate experience with alternative delivery projects, such as Engineer-Procure-Construct (EPC), and knowledge of renewable energy project design and development, including wind and solar Accountability & Complexity:
  • Plan, conduct, and direct complex assignments with a high degree of independence
  • Develop strategies and drive innovation that will further the goals of the program and demonstrate value to the client Leadership & Teamwork:
  • Provide advice, direction, coaching, and mentoring to other professionals and technical staff.
  • Exhibit leadership in one or more of the following specializations: technical expertise, T&D design, project management/client management or operations management

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum education requirements: BS in engineering, BA in Business Management, or another relevant degree with additional training in industrial and/or electrical utility engineering
  • Required experience: Minimum of 12 years of related experience in utility or power projects. PMP certification is preferred.
  • Must be willing and able to travel to industrial worksites to support project work.
  • Must be willing to travel outside of Puerto Rico 25% of the time.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English and Spanish

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a key point-of-contact to client’s leadership team.
  • Effectively manage your portfolio of projects in compliance with Stantec’s PM Framework
  • Oversee, direct, and manage a team of Project Managers responsible for delivering a portfolio of projects that meet the scope and schedule requirements within the authorized budgets.
  • Provide guidance and support for developing cost estimates, proposals, project plans, work breakdown structures, and schedules.
  • Provide input and quality reviews of project and client reports which include earned value analyses, schedules, forecasts, cash flows, gross margins, milestone updates, and estimates to complete.
  • Ensure effective project execution, including scope, change orders, resources, budget, gross margins, and schedule.
  • Collaborate with discipline managers and project leads to ensure proper resources are allocated to maintain schedule and quality expected by clients.
  • Ensure adherence to Stantec’s internal Project Management and Quality Framework
  • Assist with recruiting, training and mentorship of entry-level project managers and professional staff as needed.
  • Contribute to the development of potential proposals and calculate or review estimated efforts.
  • Reports to Program Manager
