Position Overview:
Our client is seeking a Senior Project Manager/Portfolio Manager to oversee their water infrastructure projects. This role goes beyond traditional project management; it requires a strategic thinker and effective leader who can manage multiple projects, teams, and stakeholders to ensure successful delivery. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in water infrastructure projects and a proven track record of driving performance while fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of 4/5 project managers, providing strategic direction and driving performance to achieve project objectives.
  • Lead and manage a portfolio of water infrastructure projects from initiation to completion, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to optimize project performance, mitigate risks, and capitalize on opportunities.
  • Act as a key point of contact for clients, stakeholders, and subcontractors, fostering strong relationships and ensuring clear communication throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to project teams, motivating and empowering them to achieve project objectives and exceed client expectations.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project delivery processes, methodologies, and performance metrics.
  • Provide accurate cost reports and forecasts, aligning with project limitations and deadlines.
  • Support and develop team and individual capability through mentoring, feedback, celebrating successes, and assisting with individual development plans.

About You:

  • Hold a tertiary qualification in Engineering.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve common goals.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale, complex projects from inception to completion, preferably within a tier 1 contracting environment.
  • Demonstrate extensive experience in complex project management within the water industry.
  • Strategic thinker with a results-oriented mindset, able to develop and execute plans to drive performance and deliver value.
  • Excel in dynamic contracting service-oriented environments.
  • Possess strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Showcase advanced analytical, planning, and prioritization abilities, including financial planning and budgeting skills.
  • Proven ability to effectively manage and lead a team of project managers, driving performance and achieving strategic objectives.
