Description:
We are seeking a skilled Project Manager (for a 1 year contract) with expertise in vendor collaboration to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing projects in collaboration with our existing vendor and their project manager. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management and a proven ability to effectively coordinate with external vendors to achieve project objectives. You will work in a Hybrid work environment 2 days a week from our downtown Toronto office and remotely the other days.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Collaborate closely with our vendor and their project manager to plan, execute, and monitor projects, ensuring alignment with our organization’s goals and objectives.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for communication and coordination between our internal team and the vendor, facilitating regular meetings, status updates, and issue resolution.
- Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders and the vendor, ensuring clear understanding and agreement on project requirements.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources, identifying and addressing any deviations or risks to ensure successful project delivery. This includes tracking finances and variances to ensure projects remain within budget.
- Organize and manage Steering Committee meetings, providing relevant project updates, discussing key decisions, and obtaining necessary approvals.
- Foster strong relationships with the vendor and maintain open lines of communication to promote transparency, trust, and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.
- Adherence to agreements with vendors, addressing any issues or concerns promptly and effectively.
- Provide regular project status updates and reports to stakeholders, highlighting progress, milestones, and key achievements.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and quality standards throughout the project execution process.
About You
- Bachelor’s degree in project management, Information Technology, business administration, or related field.
- 7 to 10 years of experience in managing projects
- Proven experience as a Project Manager, with a focus on vendor collaboration and management.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices.
- Experience with SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with project management tools such as JIRA, or Microsoft Project.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with external vendors and internal stakeholders.
- Ability to effectively coordinate and align project objectives between multiple parties, including internal teams and external vendors.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office suite.
- Certification in project management (e.g., PMP) is a plus.
