    DJCS Emergency Management includes the department’s emergency management accountabilities delivered through Emergency Management Victoria, Emergency Recovery Victoria, and emergency management statutory entities and offices. The work of the group supports the emergency management sector to work together to strengthen the capacity of individuals, communities, government, agencies and business to build safer and more resilient communities.
    Sector Investment and Performance - What does the business unit do?
    Sector Investment and Performance, Emergency Management is responsible for the oversight and monitoring of investment, governance, assurance, performance and reporting of emergency management portfolio agencies. The unit is responsible for ensuring the delivery of centralised enabling functions, including strategic and business planning risk and business continuity management, and government business. Key functional responsibilities also include state budget coordination and legislated reporting and assurance activities and provision of executive services. The Business Unit also supports coordination of critical emergency capability functions within DJCS EM.
    What does the Sector Investment team do?

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinating and writing state budget proposals, investment related Cabinet and committee submissions, and out of cycle supplementary funding requests.
  • Conducting analysis and providing strategic advice to senior executives and government on complex and sensitive issues relating to emergency management investment, funding and procurement.
  • Scoping, establishing and coordinating identified projects to ensure delivery to time, scope and budget
