Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Senior Project Officer works within the Quality and Credentialling unit and is responsible for monitoring and supporting NESA’s quality assurance procedures of marking and within the standards setting operation. The unit is also responsible supporting quality assurance in various post-results services for schools and students.

ON A DAY-TO-DAY BASIS YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

  • Provide expert advice and assist in the planning, managing and delivery of critical, highly complex programs, including the HSC Standards Setting Operation and the HSC Anomalous Results Inquiries
  • Monitor and support procedures for quality assurance of HSC marking, standards setting and for grade monitoring including training of markers for the HSC examinations and judges for the setting of HSC performance standards
  • Identify and develop improvements to existing quality assurance and reporting tools such as the Results Analysis Package, processes and operations concerning grade monitoring, HSC marking and performance standards.
  • Addressing complex and/or sensitive enquiries and issues, including those that are escalated, to ensure the timely and effective resolutions of issues.
  • Developing, delivering and evaluating effective training materials for senior markers, markers, judges and field officers and other stakeholder groups.
  • Translating complex assessment concepts into clear, easily understandable English.
  • Provide expert measurement and assessment advice and information to stakeholders
