Job Description
AECOM is seeking a Senior Proposal Specialist for our Water Business Line. This position could be based out of either our Burnaby, BC; Calgary, AB; or Edmonton, AB offices with opportunities for hybrid work.

JOB SUMMARY:

Your primary responsibility is to manage/lead the production of proposals and marketing material in response to formal client Requests for Water Business Line Proposals.

Responsibilities may include – but are not limited to – the following:·

  • Manage/lead responses to requests for proposals, expressions of interest, and statements of qualifications. Lead large complexity submissions and assist on complex and strategic high-level Water Business Line and Enterprise Critical Pursuit (ECP) submissions across Canada.
  • Partner with the Capture Team to develop Capture Plans and strategies, win plans for top pursuits, including conducting industry research and competitive analysis.
  • Lead proposal pursuit teams assigned to Water and ECP pursuits; facilitate proposal meetings (Go/No-Go conversations); and conduct quality reviews to ensure compliance with RFP requirements & corporate brand.
  • Develop and manage the pursuit delivery schedule.
  • Produce documents in MS Office Suite (required) or Adobe Creative Suite (preferred) which includes InDesign and other applications.
  • Lead the writing of proposals, including executive summaries, past performance, management approaches, and resume/staffing for major pursuits.
  • Lead and/or serve as a reviewer for formal reviews (pink, red, gold) or as a compliance reviewer on major pursuits.
  • Lead /coordinate debrief meetings and gathering of Client feedback on proposals to support continuous improvement. Develop a plan for implementing lessons learned.
  • Lead/coordinate the strategy and preparation of presentation and interview materials.
  • Support Capture Managers and Project Managers to update Salesforce opportunity records, contract/legal reviews and track the progress of assigned opportunities in Salesforce.
  • Support the maintenance of marketing information in the Salesforce system (such as resumes and project sheets) in collaboration with the Knowledge Management/Systems group.
  • Reporting to the Water Marketing Pursuit Team Lead, this role will work in close collaboration with the water pursuit marketing team and all other pursuit and marketing function teams across Canada.
  • Contribute to internal training on topics related to core processes, tools, practices, or other special topics, as needed.
  • Implement and facilitate the proposal marketing process in all pursuits.
  • Coordinate with the Marketing Communications group regarding marketing collateral, including print materials, presentations, and social media, online content, as needed.

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

In order to be considered for this position, candidates must possess no less than:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, English, Business or a related field plus four (4) years of relevant experience in Marketing within the consulting engineering industry or professional services marketing.

Demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education may be considered. See preferred qualifications below.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ten+ (10+) years of experience in Proposals Marketing, preparing proposals within the consulting engineering industry or professional services preferred.
  • Knowledge of marketing procedures, document and presentation production methods, proposal processes / proposal quality, and business development in professional services.
  • A creative-minded individual
  • Strong writing and editing skills.
  • Strong communication skills
  • A self-starter who will collaborate with the team, adapt to a rapidly changing and competitive environment and prioritize & multi-task in high-pressure environments.
  • Excellent organizational skills that will be highly utilized in this dynamic and professional business environment.
  • Ability to independently manage varying workloads, including schedule and resource management.
  • Experience in Adobe InDesign, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Salesforce, and SharePoint.
  • A keen attention to detail that allows you to work efficiently in a busy and deadline-driven work environment while maintaining accuracy and quality.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Experience in/knowledge of P3/Alterative Delivery pursuits is an asset.
  • Bilingual (English/French) an asset
