Gilmour Space is the leading Australian rocket company, pioneering next-generation hybrid propulsion technologies for small satellite launch vehicles.
We are hiring for a Senior Propulsion Engineer (Bi Prop) to support the Head of Propulsion Engineering to ensure the smooth running of the department and in the design, test, and production of a high-performance liquid bi prop rocket engines for Orbital launch program. You will document and communicate across teams to ensure duties are performed in an efficient and timely manner whilst adhering to Gilmour Space policies and procedures.

MANDATORY QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelors (BS) degree in an Engineering discipline
  • NV1 Security Clearance eligible preferred

  • 10+ years of experience in a similar role (e.g., propulsion industry)
  • Working knowledge of the propulsion industry
  • Ability to assist in the identification of company facilities for assembly and production to enable manufacturing efficiency
  • Knowledge of ECSS (E-10/30/60), Mil and NASA standards (as appropriate)
  • Knowledge of engineering analysis tools and CAD systems
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications

  • Lead the design and manufacture of liquid rocket
  • Support the design, build and commission of a new test facility for testing rocket
  • Define testing requirements to qualify liquid rocket
  • Perform trade studies on bi-propellant rocket engines with electric motor and turbine cycles on the upper stages of the orbital rocket.
