Description:
We are looking for an exceptional individual to join ExoMatter as a Senior Python Developer. In this role, you will be responsible for designing the architecture and leading the development of the systems that power our Materials R&D platform.
Become part of a young deep tech and software startup based in Munich and revolutionize materials development with us. ExoMatter is a spin-off of the German Aerospace Center (DLR) and part of the UnternehmerTUM family of startups. We have a first product on the market with paying customers like Airbus and BSH and a strong upward trajectory.

Tasks
As our Senior Python Developer, you will will lead the archicture and development of our Python infrastructure and scientific computing platform, building upon what we have built so far and setting the direction of its future growth. You will work in our small but growing development team, alongside our team of materials scientists, to design and implement solutions for scientific computing.
Knowledge about Materials Science is not required
- You will lead the design of new approaches to scalable scientific computing
- You will build new features, and maintain and improve existing features, in both our existing computational science platform and our internal R&D tools
- Work with our material scientists to fine-tune our computations for maximum performance
- Design and Implement engineering best practices for our Python development
- Work with our Devops team to design and implement CI/CD pipelines
Requirements
- You hold a degree in Computer Science or a related field
- You have 4+ years relevant professional experience with Python, including developing and deploying complex applications and/or developing web-applications
- Ability to work autonomously and self-manage
- Fluent in spoken and written English, German skills are a plus
- You live in Munich or want to move to Munich within 3-4 months and are then willing to work ca. 50% of your time on-site
