The following experience/qualifications are required: -

  • Quality subject matter expertise and proven track record in Quality Management.
  • Confident in working with Senior Management and able to challenge existing ways of working to support business improvement
  • The ability to provide Quality leadership
  • Build strong relationships with delivery teams and project managers
  • Substantial practical experience in quality management in all industry sectors
  • Training and facilitation skills and experience
  • A formal qualification in Quality Management e.g. Diploma in Quality Management (UK Chartered Quality Institute, British Standards Institute or equivalent)
  • Preferably trained ISO 9001 Lead Auditor and/or Internal Auditor
  • Either a CQI Member or working towards membership
  • Working knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma
  • Previous experience of managing a team
  • Competent user of modern office computer systems e.g. Microsoft Office
  • Pays attention to detail and sees things through to completion
  • Can deliver reports orally and written in an objective and persuasive manner
  • Has good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Is a self-starter who manages their own time and seeks to add value to their function

Responsibilities:

To oversee and maintain all quality procedures and records inline with the project requirements. Supporting the Quality manager in delivery and compliance of a high quality project that meets the needs defined by regulations and customer defined requirements.
What you’ll be doing

As a Senior Quality Engineer, you will have the following responsibilities;

  • To ensure agreed quality arrangements for the project are implemented inclusive of quality plans, inspection and test plans, technical procedures, auditing, progressive assurance sign off.
  • Verify that sufficient suitably qualified and experienced personnel (inclusive of supply chain)are in place to perform the effective implementation of the project quality management system
  • Roll out Right First-Time philosophy across the project ensuring the basic principles are understood and administered by all project team members.
  • Ensuring the work installed meets project specifications, drawings and other technical documents and is completed in line with Inspection and Test Plans
  • Ensuring Business Management System, Gated Business Life Cycle and other governance control processes are followed and implemented.
  • Carry out inspection audits and capture all actions in project portal. Ensure actions are closed to agreed timelines without impact to project programme.
  • Review audit findings and assess for trends. When trends exist agree with project and quality manage mitigation and preventative plans
  • Ensure supply chain Quality Management arrangements are in place and where quality grading requirements are referenced, they are followed via the correct level of inspection.
  • Monitoring and reporting project performance relating to Quality and agree (and monitor) management actions to drive performance improvements.
  • Supporting external accreditation process (including ISO9001 and industry licences)
  • Undertaking investigations and implement effective root cause analysis where applicable
  • Representing the project with client Quality meetings
  • Facilitation of quality related improvement initiative
  • Production of project Quality reports including KPIs and metrics
  • Carrying out project inspection audits
  • Ensuring documentation handover process is progressively updated.
