SUMMARY

ANSYS, Inc. seeks Senior R&D Engineer to work in Canonsburg, PA and various unanticipated locations

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering or a related field of study, and three (3) years of experience in a related position.
  • Alternate Acceptable Education and Work Experience Requirement: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering or a related field of study, and five (5) years of experience in a related occupation.
  • Work experience or academic coursework must have included:
  • commercial experience with C/C++ and Object-Oriented-Design (OOD);
  • experience with ACIS or Parasolid MCAD modeling kernels;
  • knowledge of computer graphics and associated implementation languages including DirectX, OpenGL, or Vulcan;
  • commercial experience developing complex user interfaces;
  • knowledge of advanced data-structures and algorithms.
  • Additional work location information: Various unanticipated locations. Telecommuting permitted from anywhere within the US.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the development of software products and supporting systems.
  • Use advanced technical and problem-solving skills to help the software development team tackle complex issues, satisfy customer requirements, and accomplish development objectives.
  • Participate in planning, architecture and research.
  • Perform complex development activities that may require extensive analysis in areas including user experience, software design and solver research.
  • Employ best practices and help to maintain them through technical reviews and mentoring.
  • Perform complex bug verification, release testing and beta support for assigned products.
  • Research problems discovered by QA or product support and develop solutions.
  • Research and understand the marketing requirements for a product, including target environment, performance criteria and competitive issues.
  • Work with strategic customers or proxies to assess needs and develop solutions.
  • Work independently to develop software contribute to planning and mentoring when needed.
  • May be responsible for managing interns or co-ops.
