SUMMARY
ANSYS, Inc. seeks Senior R&D Engineer to work in Canonsburg, PA and various unanticipated locations
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering or a related field of study, and three (3) years of experience in a related position.
- Alternate Acceptable Education and Work Experience Requirement: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering or a related field of study, and five (5) years of experience in a related occupation.
- Work experience or academic coursework must have included:
- commercial experience with C/C++ and Object-Oriented-Design (OOD);
- experience with ACIS or Parasolid MCAD modeling kernels;
- knowledge of computer graphics and associated implementation languages including DirectX, OpenGL, or Vulcan;
- commercial experience developing complex user interfaces;
- knowledge of advanced data-structures and algorithms.
- Additional work location information: Various unanticipated locations. Telecommuting permitted from anywhere within the US.

Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the development of software products and supporting systems.
- Use advanced technical and problem-solving skills to help the software development team tackle complex issues, satisfy customer requirements, and accomplish development objectives.
- Participate in planning, architecture and research.
- Perform complex development activities that may require extensive analysis in areas including user experience, software design and solver research.
- Employ best practices and help to maintain them through technical reviews and mentoring.
- Perform complex bug verification, release testing and beta support for assigned products.
- Research problems discovered by QA or product support and develop solutions.
- Research and understand the marketing requirements for a product, including target environment, performance criteria and competitive issues.
- Work with strategic customers or proxies to assess needs and develop solutions.
- Work independently to develop software contribute to planning and mentoring when needed.
- May be responsible for managing interns or co-ops.
