SENIOR REGULATORY INTERVENTIONS OFFICER
Liquor & Gaming NSW
- Exciting and challenging opportunity to work within a new Sound Compliance & Enforcement function at Liquor & Gaming NSW
- Sydney or regional NSW
- Clerk Grade 7/8 with a salary range of $106,025 - $117,363, plus many other great benefits including 17.5% leave loading, access to a 9-day fortnight, flexible working arrangements, and more

KEY KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
- Demonstrated experience in administrative decision making and the preparation of written recommendations and formal documents.
- Considerable regulatory compliance experience.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Appointment and ongoing assignment are subject to satisfactorily meeting the integrity standards set out in section 14 of the Gaming and Liquor Administration Act 2007, including satisfactory participation in mandatory pre-employment and ongoing probity screening, in accordance with relevant legislation and/or related policies.
- The person occupying the role may be designated as a key official under section 16 of the Gaming and Liquor Administration Act 2007 and may be subject to restrictions, such as restrictions on attending certain premises.
- Willingness and availability to meet the shift-work requirements of the role.

Responsibilities:
ABOUT THE ROLE
Responsible for undertaking complex matters, drafting well-reasoned administrative decisions and contributing to process improvements and compliance programs. The role’s primary focus is preparing formal disturbance complaint decisions under the Liquor Act 2007 and drafting written recommendations and other administrative decision-making activities.
KEY FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE MAY INCLUDE:
- Contribute to and undertake a range of compliance-related activities and manage a high case load of complex matters to ensure adherence to relevant legislation, policy and procedures.
- Prepare administrative decisions, submissions and recommendations, including those relating to formal disturbance complaints, after gathering, assessing and reviewing evidence and submissions so appropriate enforcement action can be recommended.
- Working closely with the Sound Inspectorate and Assessment & Education teams to implement a holistic approach to dealing with noise disturbance issues.
- Provide timely, informed expert guidance, advice and support on relevant and difficult/sensitive matters to internal and external customers to maximise regulatory outcomes and reduce negative impact on customers.
