SENIOR REMOTE IT SUPPORT ENGINEER – DURBANVILLE, CAPE TOWN.

A very well-established IT company with an international footprint in UK, is looking for an “Senior Remote IT Support Engineer” to join their team on a full-time permanent basis in Durbanville, Cape Town.
Very good salary on offer (subject to qualification and or experience) plus benefits and internal career advancement opportunities.
We are looking for someone to provide dedicated remote support to one of our UK based outsourced IT MSPs. This person will sit and work with us in our SA office, but they will provide dedicated remote support for a UK based IT support provider. This role is a steppingstone to moving into other departments in my business in the future.
Salary: R27 500 per month.

Position Requirements:

  • Experience on a ticketing system like Autotask – assisting with running helpdesk, answering calls
  • Familiarity with remote software. (Nable/Take Control, TeamViewer, AnyDesk etc.).
  • Active Directory management of users and groups.
  • Experience with servers (drive provisioning, understanding of folder redirections, group/drive access etc.).
  • Backup management (Veeam, Cove Data Protection or similar).
  • Firewalls (Smoothwall or similar).
  • Knowledge on network and access point management and diagnostics (Unifi or similar).
  • Good understanding of VPNs.
  • Office365 and Azure AD.
  • Teams, SharePoint, users & groups, understanding of licencing, 2fa and using 3’rd party apps like Duo etc.
  • Google workspace / Admin management.
  • Working with SentinelOne Managed anti-virus or similar.
  • Basic PowerShell knowledge and understanding.
  • At least 2-years’ experience supporting Microsoft end-users in a business environment.
  • Experience managing printers remotely.
  • Communication skills (1st language English) with a Go Getter personality is essentials.

Work Hours:

  • We work on UK hours, so the hours will be either 09:00 to 18:00 (SA Winter) or 10:00 to 19:00 (SA Summer).

  • We have public holidays on the UK public holiday calendar.
