Riverside Overview: Riverside Research is an independent National Security Nonprofit dedicated to research and development in the national interest. We provide high-end technical services, research and development, and prototype solutions to some of the country’s most challenging technical problems. All Riverside Research opportunities require U.S. Citizenship. Position Overview:
Riverside Research is seeking a full-time Senior Remote Sensing Scientist in support of the National Air and Space Intelligence Center (NASIC) at Wright Patterson AFB, OH. You will be working with a team of Riverside Research, government, military, and contractor personnel using electro-optical and infrared data for scientific and technical intelligence reporting. This work is in support of US Air Force and Intelligence Community programs.

Responsibilities:

  • Process and exploit EO-IR (spectral, thermal, and/or visible) data from remote sensing data sources
  • Provide independent verification and validation of algorithms and tools
  • Translate operational needs into technical requirements; prepare supporting documentation
  • Identify new mission applications for current or near-future sensor systems (including commercial sensor systems)
  • Identify workflow processes that can be automated or improved; document and implement process improvements
  • Support intelligence production from EO-IR imagery and signature analysis
  • Mentor junior EO-IR scientists on EO-IR phenomenologies, data sources, and analytical methods relevant to the NASIC GEOINT mission
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Active TS/SCI security clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or comparable technical degree; non-technical degree with experience will be considered
  • 10+ years of experience working with overhead EO-IR data
  • Experience with both scene-based and physics-based atmospheric correction techniques
  • Experience with intelligence community overhead EO-IR data sources
  • Experience with common remote sensing EO-IR data formats

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or comparable technical degree
  • Experience working with spectral and thermal signatures and libraries
  • Knowledge of standard spectral and thermal imaging data formats
  • Demonstrated proficiency processing and analyzing spectral data in ENVI and AGITK
  • Familiarity with SOCET GXP, RemoteView, or other Electronic Light Tables
    Global Comp: $100,000 - $160,000 This represents the typical compensation range for this position based on experience, location and other factors.
