Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Flight Systems Engineering Capability is seeking a Senior Requirements Engineer - Vehicle Management Systems (VMS) to join the Phantom Works VMS Requirements team located in the Berkeley, MO region.

You will collaborate with our hardware, software, and labs teams to implement and test your designs. Mechanical, Electrical, Aerodynamics, and other engineers are all welcome – to succeed in this role, you will need to leverage your area of expertise and quickly learn on the job about other areas to develop capabilities for our Vehicle Management System Computer. You will get to see tangible results of your efforts as you contribute to exciting aircraft development programs in St. Louis.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILL/EXPERIENCE):

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
  • 4+ year of experience in an engineering role

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • 5 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience with modeling and simulation
  • Experience in Matlab/Simulink
  • Experience with software requirements, software design, hardware software integration and testing
  • Knowledge of VMS design activities (HW/SW design, integration, modeling, and test procedure development)
  • Experience with Microsoft Visio, Clearcase, C++, C#, Visual Studio, Python
  • An active Secret clearance is highly desirable

SUMMARY PAY RANGE:

Senior: $119,850 - $162,150

Responsibilities:

  • Leads work with customers to develop and document complex electronic and electrical system requirements.
  • Leads and coordinates work to analyze and translate requirements into system architecture, hardware and software designs and interface specifications.
  • Leads work to test and validate to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements.
  • Oversees the team that monitors supplier performance to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements. Solves problems concerning and provides other support of fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle.
  • Researches technology advances for potential application to company business needs.
  • Makes recommendations for technology investments.
