Description:
We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Senior Research Fellow in Participatory Community Research to join the Born in Bradford programme to lead on community-based participatory research and engagement in our Healthy Urban Places project.
The post holder should have demonstrable skills in qualitative data analysis, including familiarity with, or knowledge of, engaging research methods (e.g. participatory video, photovoice, community interviews or surveys, mapping). Ideally they will have an understanding of inequalities theory and research, and/or research on the urban environment, ethnicity, determinants of health and/or community development issues. They will also have experience of working with diverse ethnic and social groups and marginalised and minoritised communities. Experience of writing research outputs, such as journal articles and reports, and good co-ordination and project management skills are required.
This post will be a minimum of 30 hours per week up to full time hours (37.5 hours)

The post holder will work collaboratively as part of a wider team to lead on community-based participatory research and engagement on healthy urban places. This will include Community Collaboratives which will bring together a diverse group local people as co-peer researchers, working with other researchers and stakeholders. Key responsibilities of the role will include:
working in partnership with programme colleagues in Bradford and Liverpool to develop plans to operationalise Community Collaboratives in both these urban areas
support programme colleagues to establish a ‘Community Collaborative’ in Bradford, hosted within the Born in Bradford Co-production and Peer Research Network (CoPPeR)
co-developing and implementing participatory research with diverse communities in Bradford and co-creating opportunities for sharing the learning with local policymakers, other research partners, and the wider research community
