Overview:
Schedule: Day Shifts.
Purpose Statement/Position Summary: This position is for Dr. Asgharzadeh’s lab to work on CAR-T cells. The Senior Research Specialist assists faculty and staff in designing and implementing research projects focused on primarily immunotherapy. Independently plans, prepares, and conducts a wide variety of routine and non-routine (complex) laboratory procedures. Oversees multiple projects at a time. Records, tabulates, and analyzes data and assists with and provides expertise in the preparation of papers, posters, and scientific publications. Prepares grant applications. Supervises assigned laboratory personnel, including training and performance evaluation.
Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience: Must have 3 or more years of experience performing independent laboratory research experiments and 2 or more years of supervisory experience. Or 6 or more years of experience performing independent laboratory research experiments and 4 or more years of supervisory experience.
Education/Licensure/Certification: Master’s degree or above, in a related scientific field (e.g., biology, microbiology, biochemistry, or psychology), plus 3 or more years of experience performing independent laboratory research experiments and 2 or more years of supervisory experience. Or Bachelor’s degree, in a related scientific field (e.g., biology, microbiology, biochemistry, or psychology), plus 6 or more years of experience performing independent laboratory research experiments and 4 or more years of supervisory experience.

The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates that meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this specific job description.
