To be eligible for employment within the NZIC you must have been a NZ citizen for at least 10 years. Alternatively you must hold a current NZ Residency Class Visa and ideally have been a citizen of UK, USA, Canada or Australia for at least 10 years.
You must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Special (TSS) security clearance. Ordinarily to obtain this level of clearance candidates must have a 15 year checkable background in countries where meaningful and reliable checks can be undertaken. Where requisite checks are unable to be made, the candidate application may not be able to be progressed.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

NZSIS is looking for a talented, highly motivated Senior Risk Advisor to join our fun and collaborative team in Wellington.
We can’t reveal all the details of what you’ll be involved in, but as a key advisor driving the agency’s risk management framework and maturity you will work on novel issues and play a critical role in ensuring the agency’s operations continue to their high standards. You will act as a specialist in this area and be responsible for developing, designing, and implementing risk frameworks and business continuity planning that aligns to the requirements of the organisation. The role will involve engagement with external and internal stakeholders.

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL ALSO BRING:

The ability to communicate with staff and teams at all levels, especially those at Senior Management/Director level.
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Experience managing key stakeholder relationships and requirements
Confidence to question, understand, and validate what’s going on and undertake thorough analysis
Your team will be around to provide parameters, support, guidance, and challenge you; however, we need someone with the confidence and expertise to work with a level of autonomy and do what needs to be done.
You’ll have a great sense of humour, collegiality and be a hard-working person who enjoys engaging with people to continually promote our risk maturity and compliance culture.
