The Boeing Test & Evaluation (BT&E) organization is looking for an experienced Senior Satellite Test Systems Integration & Readiness Engineering Manager to join the Space Systems Verification & Test team in El Segundo, CA. This role will manage the production integration and readiness of system level special test equipment for the satellite factory in El Segundo, CA. This leader is responsible for the management and senior leadership of Space Systems Test Equipment Readiness, Production & Infrastructure.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • 5+ years of experience leading or managing multi-disciplinary engineering projects or teams
  • 1+ years of experience in satellite system design, development or test

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)
  • Experience with design, integration, and test of electrical systems
  • Experience in developing asset management, asset tracking, or related strategy
  • Experience with data analytics and/or process analysis and associated tools

Responsibilities:

  • Lead first-level managers and employees performing engineering and technical activities in the areas of production engineering, test equipment readiness, and test systems infrastructure
  • Develop and execute integrated departmental plans, policies and procedures and provides oversight and approval for departmental business and technical strategies, roadmaps, goals, and objectives
  • Acquire resources for department activities, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements
  • Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports
  • Manage, develop and motivate employees (including represented teammates) and first-level managers
  • Develop a culture wherein safety and quality concerns are proactively identified, assessed and managed
  • Drive and manage the use of data analytics & data visualization to identify systemic issues and opportunities. Partner with design engineers to implement corrective action plans, design updates, and deployment to test assets
  • Implement measures of effectiveness to demonstrate improvement in effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity over time.
  • Lead interface to Boeing India & Product Security partners for your teams
  • Oversee test equipment infrastructure to ensure compliance with requirements and best practices (e.g. Cyber Security, DFARs, EEC), including data storage, backup, inventory management systems, and calibrations
  • Oversee the production of new specialized test equipment (STE) including first article inspections and functional checkout with engineering design teams and skilled technician teammates
  • Oversee activities required to ensure test equipment readiness to support the factory floor testing, including preventative maintenance plans, incorporation of engineering change requests, inventory management, license management, and supply and demand forecasting
  • Oversee all labs and inventory for BT&E test equipment
