Responsibilities:

YOUR ROLE:

As a History/English Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our students’ educational journey. You will be responsible for planning, preparing and delivering engaging and innovative teaching programs across our Senior School, fostering a positive classroom culture, and supporting the diverse needs and of our students.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Plan, prepare and deliver learning and teaching programs which are consistent with the relevant syllabi followed by the College.
  • Select from a flexible and effective repertoire of teaching strategies to suit the physical, social and intellectual development and characteristics of students.
  • Build relationships and partnerships with students, parents, fellow staff and the wider community through the use of well-developed communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Work collaboratively with peers to meet position and departmental responsibilities.
  • Organise assessment moderation activities that support consistent and comparable judgements of student learning.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Deal promptly and efficiently with requirements such as record keeping and the maintenance of student attendance and achievement information.
  • Attend student assemblies, worship and other activities as required.
  • Develop a culture of high expectations for all students by modelling appropriate dress, language, behaviour and communication practices.
  • Contribute to professional networks and associations and build productive links with the wider community to improve teaching and learning.
  • Through the Communities of Practice (CoPs) teams, be active and engaged in sharing practice and raising the bar of student achievement.
  • Construct accurate, informative and timely reports to students and parents/carers about student learning and achievement.
