Responsibilities:

The Mental Health Senior Research Officer (MHSRO) plays a central role in providing high-level support to the Director and research groups within the South Western Sydney Mental Health Research Unit in promoting, facilitating, developing and overseeing research in SWSLHD Mental Health Services (MHS). Undertaking a key supporting role in progressing the strategic vision for research as per the MHS Research Strategy.
The MHSRO may play an active role in leadership within the MHS Research and Practice Committee, supervision, assisting in managing large number of research grants, and project, coordinating research funding schemes and opportunities, providing supervision and advice to MHS staff on research mentorship, methods, responding to research enquiries, contributing to research ethics and governance processes, devising and implementing statistical analyses, presenting findings and interpreting the results. MHSRO will foster collaboration in research within the LHD as well as nationally and internationally. This is a MHS district role and will be instrumental in guiding the MHS towards meeting the requirements of the SWSLHD Research Strategy.
