If you are a professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an opening for you as a microwave Senior Scientist!
As a Senior Scientist you will be responsible for taking a leading role in developing microwave technology products. As part of the R,E&d technology group the senior scientists for microwave is encouraged to take a mentor role within the domain of their expertise. Deep understanding of both microwave technology and microwave applications is encouraged and your will collaborate closely with the wider R,E&D team to develop solutions that will improve the current portfolio as well as develop new products.
We look forward to seeing your application!
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS THAT SET YOU APART:
Experience with industrial permittivity sensors, microwave resonance measurements, wave-guides, wave-modes, hydrocarbon flow measurement, microwave transmission measurement, HFSS simulations, multiphase flow measurement
-
Responsibilities:
IN THIS ROLE, YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL:
- Work in projects alone or together in a team and function as key product specialist for Roxar’s flow metering products based on microwave sensors
- Interpret physical measurements using appropriate tools to acquire information from data.
- Be a key contributor for development, and qualification of microwave-based flow metering products
- Maintain and further develop advanced algorithms combining microwave measurements with other type of measurements, e.g. density, pressure, temperature, and venturi dP measurements, so deduce the gas, oil and water rate, and also the water salinity, in multiphase flow
- Understand microwave measurement applications, and influence parameters from environment, process, and geometry, perform simulation of various microwave sensor types with 3D electromagnetic simulation software
- Acquire knowledge and understanding of Roxar’s microwave front-end electronics. Which enables the role to contribute, maintain and further development electronics and algorithms
- Support other parts of the organization with advanced technical support, stay up to date on flow measurement technologies in the market. Attend applicable conferences related to flow measurement and industrial microwave sensors
FOR THIS ROLE, YOU WILL NEED:
- M. Sc or Ph. D degree in electronics, telecommunication, physics, cybernetics or another relevant field
- Strong theoretical skills within one or several of the fields: high frequency electromagnetic, signal processing, physics, and measurement of multiphase flow
- Not a requirement but beneficial if experience with industrial permittivity sensors, simulation tools like: Matlab, HFSS, COMSOL, Microwave studio or similar, oil industry, Python and/or Matlab scripting, PVT modelling of hydrocarbon compositions, machine learning, big data, regression techniques, PCA and other large data set analysis and modelling techniques
- Proficiency in English and Norwegian languages
- Good communication, presentation, and documentation skills
