Description:

The North West Company (NWC) is looking for a Senior Server Analyst with knowledge of service and application delivery, as well as successful Service Level Agreement (SLA) accomplishments. Your role is to provide operational support from our company’s server and storage infrastructure. You will develop, maintain, support, and optimize existing services while ensuring our maintenance activities follow industry standards and best practices.

DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

•University degree or college diploma in the field of Computer Science/and or 5 years’ equivalent work experience; certifications are beneficial.
•Minimum 5 years of experience delivering Server and Storage design and operational excellence;
•Experience with VMware and Red Hat is required.
•Experience with Azure cloud technology and best practice is required.
•Hands-on experience in troubleshooting hardware.
•Knowledge of current protocols and standards.
•Application support experience. Retail knowledge is an asset.
•Experience in interpreting the applicability of local and federal laws/regulations to company operations.
•Demonstrated leadership and personnel/project management skills.
•Able to perform general mathematical calculations for needs assessments and budgets.
•Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills, coupled with a strong attention to detail.
•Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
•Ability to make sound and logical judgments, and prioritize and execute tasks within tight timelines.

This is an active job opening for a position that is currently available and we are actively seeking to fill.

Responsibilities:

•Ensure the day-to-day operations of the Server and Storage environments are meeting/exceeding reliability, availability, and service requirements as per SLA.
•Develop, implement, and execute a daily report for Servers and Storage to ensure all critical systems are pro- actively reviewed each day.
•Ensure all systems are effectively monitored and alerting at all times.
•Practice Information Technology asset management, including maintenance of component inventory and related documentation.
•Ensure problems, incidents, and tickets are appropriately actioned within department SLA’s.
•Review existing technology and processes, and recommend changes when required by clients.
•Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot problems with mission critical server infrastructure including servers, storage, virtualization, enterprise backup, and Storage Area Networks (SAN).
•Provide rotating 24/7 on-call support of mission critical UNIX/Linux and Windows server based infrastructure, and assist in the identification and resolution of any problems or maintenance related issues.
•Perform feasibility studies, and assist in cost benefit analysis and planning for projects.
