The City of Wolverhampton Council are seeking to strengthen its Digital & IT service, recruiting a Senior Service Support Engineer to join our dynamic and forward-thinking team.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced support team, who think out of the box. Our aim is to provide exceptional services, including providing advice, support and implementing solutions to several customers in an enterprise environment.

The Senior Service Support Engineer will join a professional, friendly and energetic team. You will have the ability to champion a culture of change and improvement, you will be expected to have the knowledge and ability to be able to: -

  • Create software packages in Intune, SCCM
  • Manage our windows Image.
  • Knowledge of deploying windows updates
  • Knowledge of using Intune to create polices.
  • Technical escalation points for customers and members of the team.

You must have excellent customer service and communication skills, coupled with the ability to relay technical information to a variety of audiences on a number of levels. You will have recent experience in an ICT support environment delivering 2nd line support in a large enterprise environment which needs to be demonstrated through application and interview.
You will be qualified to GCSE level or equivalent and an ICT based qualification would be advantageous but is not essential.
Prior experience in using patch engine, Lansweeper, autopilot, hardware repair would be advantageous.

OUR WORKING ARRANGEMENTS

All council roles are allocated to either a fixed, field or flexible work style. Some roles are agile which enable and empowers employees to maximise their performance and productivity, whilst maintaining a healthy work life balance. Roles with a fixed workstyle work in a fixed permanent council location. Roles with a field workstyle are usually allocation where employees are required to be out working in the community with a minimum requirement for ‘touch down’ space at any council location. Roles with a flexible workstyle have a flexible base location to meet the needs of the business and employees can work from a mixture of home or any council office, partner/client, or external location, as required to meet service requirements.
