Description:

REQUIREMENTS

  • Diploma Chemicalengineering or equivalent.
  • At least 3 years work experience as DCS operatorin a chemical processing environment. Experience in polymerization and/or extrusion is advantageous.
  • Possess basic Knowledge of chemical processing and equipment, with working knowledge of ISO14001, ISO9001/IATF16949, ISO45001, SS651.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to work rotatingshift pattern in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

Performing routine operations

  • Attend toolbox meeting and conduct take-over / hand-over with the technician of the next shift, ensure all the information regarding the status of each operations under his control are properly communicated and documented in patrol log/SSTlog and/or handover log sheets.
  • Strictly follow documented procedures (e.g. Standard operating procedure-SOP, EHS regulations, Check sheets, risk assessment) to ensure safe and stable operation in the plant
  • Record all the information in the documented records (e.g. Log sheet or check- sheets) as required and be involvedin the process trouble-shooting / investigations/ abnormality reports
  • Check sheets and workflow sheet must be filled up completely at each step and final completion confirmed by supervisor
  • Provide inputand/or prepare draft of revisedmanufacturing SOP or check sheets.
  • Promptly report any near miss / deviations / incidents to his Supervisor, directly or through Risk reporting & improvement proposal system.
  • Keep good housekeeping conditions at all times, return all tools / items to designated place and enforce similar standards to contractors. Ensure tools / items fully accounted during handover / takeover according to quantity and condition specified.

DCS Operations

  • Closely monitor DCS (Distributed control system) for alarms, analyze the deviation and respond according to documented process adjustment steps.
  • Upon instruction from shift supervisor, operate the DCS system in accordance to documented procedures.
  • Given instruction to shift technician in the field, to ensure close coordination and clear communication between DCS action and field action, to prevent mis- operation.
  • Keep all the relevant records/forms, signed and always ready for Audit. Always check the operational document latest edition and assist the SSVs in the enforcement and compliance.

Quality control

  • Has responsibility to ensure quality of products under his control, including prevention of foreign material contamination.
  • Confirms in-process analysis or finish product analysis results are within specifications. Report to the Supervisor when an abnormal situation (out of specifications) occurs.
  • Make necessary process adjustment to bring processback into controlrange.
  • Keep the record up to date and fill up requireddata/information on timely manner.

Performing non-regular work

  • When an abnormal condition is detected (outside of normal operating condition), stop operation and inform supervisor immediately.
  • After non-regular work discussion with risk assessment completed, and management approval obtained. Conduct tool box meeting before work starts.

Emergency response

  • Involve in CERT team/organization when appointed as part of CERT (Company emergency response team).
  • Participate in CERT training, drills and audits defined by EHS department even if not a certified/appointed CERT member (focus on CCR internal emergency matter such as calling/informing other party/group, entertain/pick up incoming calls, event scribbler and to assist as when directed by SMC/SMC).
  • When emergency situation occurs, follow the steps established in the emergency response plan, such as activation of emergency shutdown of processes.Participate in the mitigation of hazards ( fire fighting, spill containment, rescue) if qualified/certified/appointed CERT member.

Committee and training

  • Involve in Production department committee as shift representative/coordinator, to provide feedback to committee and assist the committee to implement action items.
  • Train and guide new technicians during on-the-job training. Provide document/record for the given training and submit to superior for review and acknowledgement.
