About Us
At the heart of ANZ Plus is a talented, high-performing team with big ideas. We’re building products, services and experiences that will not only provide our customers with enhanced banking functionality but empower them to make better financial decisions and improve their financial wellbeing
About the Role
As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer in ANZ Plus, you’ll play a key role in helping to build and shape our SRE function. This role is responsible for ensuring agreement of service levels (eg SLIs, SLOs), continuous automation and improvement of the solution to meet these service levels.
Banking is changing and we’re changing with it, giving our people great opportunities to try new things, learn and grow. Whatever your role at ANZ, you’ll be building your future, while helping to build ours.
What will your day look like?
As a Senior SRE at ANZ Plus, you will be instrumental in helping build out the medium to long term strategy of SRE within your domain.
You will apply SRE principles to ensure that we build, monitor, and measure what is important.
You will work collaboratively with other SRE leaders and teams across ANZ Plus to continually drive down the cost of operations, increase efficiency, and build a strong reliability culture.
You will be a role model for technical execution. You will take ownership of complex and ambiguous problems, and you will mentor other engineers through their challenges.
You will need to be comfortable with constantly learning new tools and techniques along with running proof of concept evaluations to keep us on the leading edge.
We will turn to you for suggestions on how to improve the platforms, processes, and tools. We expect that you already have great ideas you can share at our cloud guilds & user groups, along with industry Meetups.
What will you bring?
We are looking for an engineer that already possess some of the following skills:
Expertise coding in one or more languages (Go, Java, Python, or other scripting languages).
Expertise with common Infrastructure as Code tools. For example, Terraform or CloudFomation.
Expertise with one or more Continuous Intergration / Deployment tools. For example, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or BuildKite.
Exerprise in cloud computing across one or more major public cloud providers. For example, GCP, AWS, or Azure.
Proficient with Kubernetes, or equivalent container orchestration tooling.
Experience working with operations and architecture groups developing scalable and supportable solutions
Experience with common monitoring and observability tooling. For example, Honeycomb, Splunk, Dynatrace, etc.
While none of our engineers have all the skills above, they do all code.
The particular language and tools used are not as important as your development skills and learning aptitude.
So why join us?
From the moment you join ANZ, you’ll be doing meaningful work that will shape a world where people and communities thrive.
But it’s not just our customers who’ll feel your impact. you’ll feel it too. Because at ANZ, you’ll have the resources, opportunities, and support you need to take the next big step in your career.
We’re a diverse bunch at ANZ in different roles, different locations, doing different things. That’s why we have a range of flexible working arrangements, so our people can ‘make work, work for them’. We also provide a range of benefits including access to health and wellbeing services and discounts on selected products and services from ANZ and more.
At ANZ, you’ll be part of an organisation where the different backgrounds, perspectives and life experiences of our people are celebrated. That’s because We’re committed to building a workplace that reflects the diversity of the communities we serve. We welcome applications from everyone and encourage you to talk to us about any adjustments you may require to our recruitment process or the role itself.
