Responsibilities:

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Cultivate an automation-first attitude and work to champion code-centric solutions throughout our department to improve velocity and deliverability.
  • Participate in the design process, representing, solving, and planning for operational prism in the product roadmap.
  • Collaborate and communicate with cross-functional colleagues to drive DevOps centric cross-org initiatives, tooling and standards.
  • Build tools that empower capacity planning and demand forecasting, software performance analysis, and system tuning.
  • Lead incident response in collaboration with application owners and the platform team.
  • Develop tooling to surface the day-to-day health, uptime and reliability of our cloud infrastructure.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop, scale, and automate our cloud infrastructure to ensure the reliability, security and efficiency of our platform.
  • Implement proactive monitoring and alerting capabilities to identify and resolve issues before they impact customers.
  • Collaborate with development teams to advocate for and implement security, reliability and performance best practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Lead incident response and post-mortem analysis to prevent future outages and improve system resilience.
  • Design and conduct capacity planning and performance testing to ensure our systems can handle growth.
  • Continuously evaluate and integrate new technologies to enhance our infrastructure and development workflows.
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to a culture of learning and excellence.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Automation first mindset and orientation
  • At least 4+ years working as an SRE, DevOps or equivalent engineering role
  • Proficient in scripting and automation using languages such as Python
  • Strong experience with AWS or other Cloud technologies
  • Hands-on experience in orchestration via Kubernetes
  • Experience with Relational and non-relational databases
  • Good knowledge of managing infrastructure as a code using Terraform or cloud formation and application monitoring tools (New Relic,Coralogix, etc)
  • CI/CD tooling (any of the followings: GitLab CI, jenkins and similar)
  • Huge plus: Experience managing infrastructure and configuration of Data Platforms in the Cloud - Data Lake, Data Warehouse, Data Mart, Graph Database, Time Series Database, Object Store, etc
  • Huge plus: Experience in Spark with Python or Scala
  • Huge plus:Knowledge in various ETL/ELT tools and concepts, data modeling, SQL, query performance optimization
  • Huge plus: Experience with workflow management tools (Airflow, Oozie, Azkaban, Luigi, etc.)
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
