Description:

1. JOB SUMMARY

As a Senior Social Worker at New Hope Community Services, you will play a vital role in driving our mission to bring change into the lives of the displaced and disadvantaged in our community. You will lead and oversee a range of critical social work activities aimed at supporting and empowering our residents / clients. You will play a central role in facilitating case conferences, managing disputes, and responding to incidents within the facility. Your responsibilities will include conducting intake assessments, referring residents to external resources, and providing counselling and support to address their needs. The Senior Social Worker works collaboratively with our dedicated cross-functional teams, community partners, and stakeholders, to be a Beacon of New Hope to the displaced and disadvantaged in our community.

SOCIAL WORK

  • Oversee a range of social work activities such as intake assessments, allocation of rooms, and referrals to external / community stakeholders, partners, and resources.
  • Oversee the admission interviews for the referred Authorised Occupier(s) seeking admission.
  • Oversee the organisation and facilitation of group work to build the Authorised Occupiers’ stability, self-reliance, and social mobility. This is done through community building, empowerment, town hall meetings, residents’ committees, community gardens, life-skills workshops, etc.
  • Lead and facilitate case conferences within the SRSF Programmes and with external stakeholders.
  • Facilitate like-skill programmes, support groups, or other related community programmes with community partners.
  • To lead and work with a multi-disciplinary team to fulfil the KPIs of the programme and manage the delivery standards.
  • Work with other Social Service agencies and community partners.
  • Refer Authorised Occupier(s) to relevant external agencies and partners as necessary, including but not limited to the Ministry of Social and Family Development’s Social Service Office (SSO), Community Development Councils (CDC), Family Service Centres (FSCs), Workforce Singapore (WSG), and / or community partner such as those in the SG Cares Community Network.
  • Manage moderate to significant disputes that may occur between co-living residents.
  • Mediate disputes between the Authorised Occupier(s) and work with the Operation team to facilitate residents / clients to move to another place, if needed.
  • Respond to incidents within rental units, such as de-escalating crisis situations and notify the Management / Housing and Development Board (HDB).
  • Counsel Authorised Occupier(s) who do not abide by the terms and conditions of residing in these flats.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Degree in Social Work from an accredited institution
  • Accredited as Registered Social Worker with SASWAt least 4 years of relevant working experience in similar sectors
