Senior Software Engineer (Full-stack) - Investment Portfolio Analytics
Overview
As a Senior Software Engineer specializing in Investment Portfolio Analytics, you will play a pivotal role in the redevelopment of our web application. Your primary responsibilities will include full-stack development, integration of APIs from diverse investment data vendors, implementation of robust security measures, and expertise in developing and visualizing various stock and portfolio metrics.
Key Responsibilities
- Full-stack Development:
- Lead the redevelopment efforts for our investment portfolio analytics web application.
- Utilize a range of technologies and frameworks for both front-end and back-end development.
- Ensure seamless integration and interaction between different components of the application.
- API Integration:
- Work closely with investment data vendors to integrate their APIs into the application.
- Develop efficient and scalable solutions for retrieving, processing, and storing investment data.
- Security Implementation:
- Implement industry-best security practices to safeguard sensitive financial data.
- Conduct regular security assessments and contribute to the continuous improvement of security measures.
- Portfolio Metrics and Calculations:
- Apply advanced methodologies to calculate various stock and portfolio metrics.
- Collaborate with data scientists and financial analysts to ensure accuracy and relevance of calculated metrics.
- Data Visualization:
- Design and implement effective data visualization strategies for presenting complex financial data.
- Use modern visualization libraries and tools to create interactive and user-friendly dashboards.
- Performance Optimization:
- Identify and address performance bottlenecks to ensure a smooth and responsive user experience.
- Optimize code and database queries for improved application performance.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and QA engineers, to deliver high-quality software.
- Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders, providing updates and seeking input as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Full-stack Developer with a focus on investment portfolio analytics.
- Strong proficiency in programming languages such as JavaScript (Node.js and/or React), Python, and others as required.
- Experience with database systems (SQL and/or NoSQL) and data modeling.
- In-depth knowledge of security protocols and best practices in financial applications.
- Familiarity with various investment data vendors and their APIs.
- Understanding of financial concepts and methodologies for calculating portfolio metrics.
- Proficiency in data visualization tools and libraries (e.g., D3.js, Chart.js).
