THE JOB, IN SHORT

Our Product, Technology, and Security Team (the POTUS team) consists of skilled professionals dedicated to delivering cutting-edge software products and services that meet and exceed customer expectations. We are now looking to strengthen the POTUS team and are seeking two experienced senior software developers/architects who will play key roles in the product development and delivery process.
If you’re looking for a workplace that encourages collaboration, personal growth, and a cheerful atmosphere, then House of Control is the place for you. This position will be based in Høvik, Stockholm, or Trondheim, depending on where you live. Some travel should be expected.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a software developer, with significant focus on design and architecture.
Deep knowledge of modern programming languages and frameworks (e.g., Java, C#, PHP, Python, JavaScript).
Experience designing and implementing distributed systems and microservices architecture.
Solid understanding of design patterns, databases, and cloud-based technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively both independently and in a team.
Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments and organisational levels.
Experience with continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) and automated testing.
Fluency in Norwegian, Swedish, or Danish

Responsibilities:

Lead software development projects from concept to implementation, ensuring they meet high-quality standards and delivery deadlines.
Actively participate in the design, architecture, and implementation of complex software systems.
Provide technical leadership and guidance to other members of the development team.
Explore new technologies and frameworks to optimize performance, security, and scalability of our products.
Collaborate closely with product management and stakeholders like Customer Success, Sales and Finance to identify requirements and define solutions that fit the business needs.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes and best practices, including Test Driven Development.
Contribute to further developing the application architecture, focusing on independent services or modules, each with its own delimited area of responsibility (microservice architecture) and APIs.
Manage and address Technical Debt throughout the development process by identifying, evaluating, and prioritising debt items to continuously improve the quality of code and the system.
Occasionally participate in a cross-functional “Customer Innovation Team”, to ensure a deep understanding of the customers’ needs and their implications, as well as identify solutions that both meet their needs and focus on good UX.
