EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

• Proficiency in one or more of the following programming languages: JavaScript, C# VB, VB Scripting or .NET
• A Bachelor degree in an IT related course is an added advantage
• Fifteen (15) years professional experience in software development, with focus on designing, development and implementation of business systems and processes
• Understand business processes such as finance, sales, marketing, engineering and warehouse management
• Excellent communications skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong leaderships skills and ability to lead and project manage a team.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability, attention to detail and have a passion for continuous learning and improvement.

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE

• 15 Years’ experience as a software developer.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

• Syspro development experience an added advantage.
• Visual Cobol and Dialog Development experience an added advantage.

JOB PURPOSE:

• To develop in-house software systems / programme to meet the company’s objectives. To support and maintain the Syspro ERP system.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to understand and define business processes and requirements and translate them into specifications and software designs.
• Research, consult, analyse and evaluate system program needs.
• Design and develop scalable, reliable and maintainable software solutions using best practices, design patterns and industry standards.
• Lead the entire software development life cycle (SDLC), from design to deployment.
• Identifying limitations and deficiencies in existing systems and associated process, procedures and methods.
• Providing advice, guidance and expertise in developing proposals and strategies for software design activities such as financial evaluation.
• Providing automated routines to improve company’s productivity.
• Conduct testing, review code, troubleshoot and debug software.
• Managing code documentation and version control
• Mentor and coach junior team members for continuous improvement.
• Stay up to date with the latest trends and technologies in software development and leverage them to drive innovation and business improvement.
• Assist and train all Syspro users.
• Providing automated routines to improve cony’s productivity.
• Perform tasks which may from time to time be determined by the MIS Manager, such as month end.
