CoStar is the owner of Land.com, LandWatch and Land and Farm and is the leading operator of online marketplaces that support the sale and purchase of farms, ranches, country homes, and rural land. Our customers include real-estate brokers, real-estate agents, owners, and investors who need internet listing services and information to help them sell/purchase properties and track competitive trends.
CoStar is currently seeking a full-time Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) in our Austin office where you will be responsible for writing software test harnesses used to automate the testing of our software. A SDET may write code that tests functionality, computations, performance or scalability. You will also help troubleshoot these high performance and high availability web applications that drive the growth of our Land business unit.

This position is located in Austin, TX and offers the following hybrid schedule options:

  • 3 days onsite, 2 days remote

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field or equivalent experience
  • A track record of commitment to prior employers
  • 6+ years of experience in SDET role
  • Excellent designing and programming skills in C# .NET
  • Experience with BDD Concepts
  • 6+ years of experience in Selenium web driver, and testing frameworks
  • Fluent in SQL and relational databases, including experience testing relational database-backed applications

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Experience with Visual Studio or Azure DevOps or Git
  • Ability to clearly communicate thoughts and ideas within and across teams
  • Ability to work well with other team members, developers and management
  • Ability to juggle priorities and work with minimal supervision or assistance to complete tasks

Responsibilities:

  • Drive our end-to-end automation scripts to reduce time spent on repetitive testing tasks
  • Writing, scheduling and publishing test automation scripts for full-stack infrastructure
  • Collaborate with Development and QA engineers to accelerate progress on our test automation goals
  • Understand the flow of code and how it interacts with different components
  • Understand project documents, customer demands, and product objectives to create and execute test cases
  • Set up and maintain current test automation frameworks on multiple application platforms, such as Mobile, and Web
  • Building test scenarios based on acceptance criteria
  • Investigate customer problems referred to you by the technical support team, test bugs, and create and manage bug reports
  • Handle technical communications and understand the customers’ systems
  • Working with deployments teams, resolve level issues for systems, coordinate on product design, and offer input on the testability of functional elements and product designs
  • Note all testing actions you have performed in daily and weekly reports
  • Analyze and deconstruct software systems and coordinate with other teams to enhance the overall design
  • Research test tools, methodologies, and trends and upgrade existing practices and processes
  • Managing the final quality on production release
