Description:
WHO WE ARE
Arcadia is the technology company empowering energy innovators and consumers to fight the climate crisis. Our software and APIs are revolutionizing an industry held back by outdated systems and institutions by creating unprecedented access to the data and clean energy needed to make a decarbonized energy grid possible.
In 2014, Arcadia set out on its mission to break the fossil fuel monopoly and since then we have been knocking down the institutional barriers to unlock decarbonization. To date, we have connected hundreds of thousands of consumers and small businesses with high-quality clean energy options. Fast forward to today, and now, we’re thinking even bigger. We have launched Arc, an industry-defining SaaS platform that empowers developers and energy innovators to deliver their own custom, personalized energy experiences, accelerating the transformation of the industry from an analog energy system into a digitized information network.
Tackling one of the world’s biggest challenges requires out-of-the-box thinking & diverse perspectives. We’re building a team of individuals from different backgrounds, industries, & educational experiences. If you share our passion for ushering in the era of the clean electron, we look forward to learning what you would uniquely bring to Arcadia!
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
We are seeking a resourceful and versatile Senior Backend or Full Stack Engineer to join the Engineering team and help bring our visions to life. The ideal candidate is a low-ego team player who approaches engineering problems and potential solutions with curiosity and attention to detail. Although energy industry knowledge is preferred, a strong candidate will have demonstrated software engineering projects in a regulated industry or one requiring deep domain knowledge. We are an analytical group – there is no shortage of challenges operating large API applications at scale, but our core business logic demands comfort performing numerical calculations. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated ownership of features and modules developed while collaborating with Subject Matter Experts and colleagues across Product, Design, and Marketing.
The Energy Analytics group builds industry-leading data modeling products to predict energy costs and calculate the benefits of DER interventions such as adding solar or battery storage. If you got a quote to put solar panels on your roof, odds are your ROI calculation flowed through our Genability Signal and Switch API’s by way of our enterprise customers. We build performance models of battery systems, and we use ML techniques to predict energy datasets. Solving the climate crisis requires a mass deployment of clean energy technologies, and our products give the economic insights to most effectively deploy projects today.
Responsibilities:
- Make meaningful contributions to the industry-leading energy cost modeling API
- Design and develop new products and modules
- Translate product and SME requirements into engineering-ready designs, specifications, and implementation plans
- Participate in peer technical design review sessions to ensure efficient and maintainable code
- Work with build/release engineering, QA, and support to ensure all aspects of a project are well documented, tested, and supported
- Write integration and unit tests to validate your implementation
- Work with remote teams
