Senior Software Engineer- Azure Object Storage

Overview
Azure Storage Blob team is looking for a talented and highly motivated Senior Software Engineer to design and develop the next generation of our object storage stack. We are building Microsoft’s cloud storage solution - Microsoft Azure Storage, which is a massively scalable, highly distributed, ubiquitously accessible storage system, designed to scale out and serve the entire world. We continue to have tremendous hockey stick growth; we have many Exabyte data stored and are designing and building systems for Zettabyte scale to support demand growth for the coming years. We are looking for enthusiastic candidates who love to learn, have a passion for writing high quality software and enjoy collaborating with a dynamic team.
As a Senior Software Engineer in the Azure Blob Storage team, you will help solve the performance and scale requirements of the most demanding Machine learning, Analytics, and HPC workload. You will have opportunity to make high-impact changes daily as you build a hyper-scale storage system that may directly or indirectly be used daily by your friends and family.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
OR equivalent experience.
4+ years programming experience in developing products and services in systems and backend.
4+ years of experiences in building quality products and scalable distributed services, and designing and building large scale distributed systems.
4+ years of experiences in cloud backend development and operation, including performance, reliability, resilience, and scale-out.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
OR Master’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
OR equivalent experience.
Experience building distributed systems and large-scale storage
Experience with multi-threaded/parallel programming
Experience in software engineering practices, coding and solid foundation in data structures, algorithms with releant testing, debugging and analytical skills.
Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across Canada is CAD $104,000 - CAD $193,200 per year.
