    Boeing Phantom Works - Global (PWG) is seeking a candidate for the role of Senior Software Engineer to join the Modelling and Simulation group. You will work within an interdisciplinary group of engineers and analysts providing modelling and simulation to a range of Defence, Government, and Sustainable Commercial Aviation customers. This will range from early concept definition, working hand-in-hand with analysts and customers, through to developing final software solutions and products.

Working in the role you will have the opportunity to:

  • Use working knowledge of modern C++ principles and practice (C++17 in use)
  • Leverage software development skills in another language: Javascript, Python or Unreal
  • Unreal experience is highly valued
  • Spearhead software development, support, integration and test
  • Foster an Agile environment. Our teams execute within fortnightly sprints using the Scrum framework.
  • Design software concepts in both written and verbal formats from management as well as the technical team
  • Work within a motivated a dedicated team that is focused on delivering new capability to our customers
  • Experience both Windows and Linux operating systems
  • Develop software with exposure to any of:
  • Development of an Unreal Engine offering
  • Aerodynamics and flight simulation
  • Future Flight Mobility
  • Carbon Emission Reduction algorithms
  • Electronics and Communications
  • Radar, EO/IR, and passive sensor systems
  • Tactical Data Links
  • Industry specific simulation tools
  • Support Verification & Validation and testing activities

A minimum of 5 years’ experience within software engineering teams is required for the role. We’d also love if you have prior experience in the Defence industry where you gained familiarity with any of the above technologies. In addition to the tasks described above, you will be required to work cooperatively within the larger PW-G Team.
