We are looking for a talented Software Engineer to join our Advanced TPMS (Treatment Planning and Management Systems) Solutions team.
You will be part of a cross-functional team, working closely together with other teams in Europe and overseas. You will work on challenging and inspiring global R&D projects that have an impact on people’s lives around the world.
As a member of the team, you will participate in software development process from inception to production, focusing on design and development activities. We are designing and implementing our applications to follow cloud-native integration and deployment concepts, such as containerization orchestration tools and technologies.
You are always dedicated to bringing the best value and quality. You have an analytical and proactive mindset and you feel comfortable working on complex problems and long-term R&D projects. In addition, you are an open minded and flexible thinker.
The Role
You will be working on Varian’s next generation treatment planning platform. Your focus will be on design and implementation, and you will participate in other software development lifecycle activities when support is needed.

To be successful in the role, you should have:

  • MSc or BSc in Computer Science or related discipline
  • Experience in professional software development, processes and methods
  • Comfortable working in an Agile team.
  • An in-depth knowledge of common web technologies like JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, HTTP, REST, JSON.
  • Experience with modern web frameworks (e.g. Angular, React).
  • Proactive problem-solving and ability to troubleshoot both Windows and Linux based environments.
  • Good communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal.

DESIRABLE (not essential, but highly advantageous)

  • Working experience with C#, .NET (Framework + Core)
  • Experience of continuous integration and –deployment concepts, tools, and technologies (e.g. Azure DevOps, Jenkins, TeamCity)
  • Knowledge of latest containerization and orchestration technologies in a Linux environment. (K8s, docker, networking stacks)
  • Experience with virtualized- and cloud environments
  • Cybersecurity skills
