PagerDuty is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our diverse, customer-focused team! As a Senior Software Engineer on the schedules team , you’ll be working on our scheduling platform which is a core piece of our business to help organizations distribute on-call responsibilities across their teams. This is an exciting opportunity as you’ll help us realize the long term vision for the product to build flexible and extensible scheduling capabilities by architecting and building the technical foundations (a suite of highly available services, scalable databases and reliable data streams). You will also have plenty of opportunities to partner with the product and design teams on shaping new products and features for our customers. The ideal candidate will have full stack experience with Java, or React and be responsible for promoting engineering excellence principles with our design, dev, test and release cycles.
The Mobilization Team is looking for an accomplished senior software engineer to help us build the future of Schedules for the Operations Cloud. As a senior engineer on the team, you’ll be working on our scheduling platform which is a core piece of our business to help organizations distribute on-call responsibilities across their teams. You’ll help us realize the long term vision for the product to build innovative, flexible and extensible scheduling capabilities by architecting and building the technical foundations (a suite of highly available services, scalable databases and reliable data streams). You will also have plenty of opportunities to partner with the product and design teams on shaping new products and features for our customers. You’ll also be responsible for promoting engineering excellence principles with our design, dev, test and release cycles.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience designing, building, and operating large systems with scalability, availability, and performance requirements.
  • Development experience working on customer-facing and web-based systems.
  • Demonstrated experience with Java, Python, React or similar
  • You’ve had experience designing & implementing distributed and highly available systems

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • You have operational experience in a cloud technologies such as AWS
  • You have operational experience with databases & tools (e.g. MySQL, Aurora, Kafka, NoSQL, applying software engineering principles to data problems, etc.)
  • Experience building user-facing public APIs
  • You have built or worked on a customer-facing product
    The base salary range for this position is 123,000 - 180,000 CAD. This role may also be eligible for bonus, commission, equity, and/or benefits.
    Our base salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range, which is subject to change based on primary work location, reflects the minimum and maximum base salary we expect to pay newly hired employees for the position. Within the range, we determine pay for an individual based on a number of factors including market location, job-related knowledge, skills/competencies and experience.
