We are looking to hire a Senior Software Engineer to join our team.
The organization’s portfolio spans the Cloud Edge Stack, Azure Engineering Systems, Azure Media Services - for end-to-end media workflow and analytics - and Microsoft’s Operating Systems including the Azure Host OS and Windows. This portfolio impressively powers the world with more than one billion monthly active devices.
Azure Edge + Platform engineering team is looking to hire talented and highly motivated Senior Software Engineers to be on point for designing and implementing the next-generation Edge + Platform products and services for customers across the globe. This person will need to be proficient technically, with in-depth knowledge and experience in analyzing data and requirements, designing, developing and releasing services or products to end users.
Our team develops the platform for collecting, analyzing reliability data for all of Azure and cloud services in Microsoft and notifies the relevant team through its intelligent alerting services. Our mission is Intelligent, seamless monitoring and diagnostics platform identifying, analyzing, and root-causing reliability issues in near real-time for Microsoft ecosystem.
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing scalable, highly performant components or services for Azure Edge and Devices. As part of this team, you will be directly responsible for transforming loosely defined ideas into tangible design and driving the implementation and execution in order to bring the vision to life. You will be collaborating directly with Azure partners and customers to assess requirements, determine the best practices, guide our designs, and resolve production issues.
REQUIRED/MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- OR equivalent experience.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
ADDITIONAL OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- OR Master’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- OR equivalent experience.
- Experience in programming, design and problem-solving skills, with a bias for quality and engineering excellence
- Experience developing cross-platform software
- Demonstrated knowledge of modern software development and/or big data technologies.
Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $112,000 - $218,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $145,800 - $238,600 per year. Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
