Within Azure Data, the business intelligence team builds and maintains Power BI which is the undisputed leader in BI tool in the industry today and serves as the bridge between data professionals & Office users. We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer r to collaborate with engineers, designers, and product managers, taking ownership of projects across the stack. The ideal candidate should be proficient in agile development practices, bringing a wealth of knowledge, experience, and technical expertise to support team growth. Applicants must have a history of working through complex technical or architectural challenges, prioritizing incremental delivery and value-driven outcomes.

REQUIRED/MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or related technical discipline AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, Angular, or Python
  • OR equivalent experience
  • 2+ Years of Experience designing and maintaining cloud service applications, distributed systems and microservices.
  • 2+ years of mentoring other engineers and driving/ planning the execution of features.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check:

  • This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

PREFERRED/ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, Angular, or Python.
  • OR Master’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, Angular, or Python
  • OR equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in any modern software development language.
  • Experience with business intelligence or data applications.
  • Experience with Large Language Models (LLMs) or OpenAI.
  • Experience developing new features in a large codebase on an established product across multiple versions.
    Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $112,000 - $218,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $145,800 - $238,600 per year.
