Description:
The Windows & Web Experiences team, WWE, builds comprehensive and engaging content, services, and platforms for consumers to access the information they need anywhere on any device and for enterprises to enhance their employee and customer experiences. The Multimedia team specializes in building personalized and engaging content around images and videos that scale to 1B+ Microsoft users on desktop and mobile. The team also works on multi-modal chat systems along with building and deploying image understanding models and associated tools.
As a Senior Software Engineer you will be responsible for building tools, systems, pipelines, and infrastructure that is a cornerstone to our development process. We build systems and products that ship to millions of users across all of Microsoft’s Windows and Web Experiences team. Our tools and systems that help drive these products range from the use of large language models, web tools, big data processing, large machine learning pipelines, and other optimizations and automations.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- OR equivalent experience.
- 4+ years experience working on Infrastructure software development or automation tools and systems.
- 4+ years of full stack web development experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous experience in developing infrastructure or full stack development of web tools.
- Knowledge of tools and automations helpful in the development and debugging of machine learning systems and models.
- Experience building tools around Large Language Models (LLMs)
- Prompt engineering experience with Large Language Models (LLMs)
- Contributions to open-source frontend projects, backend projects or a portfolio of relevant work.
- Experience mentoring or providing guidance to junior developers.
Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across Canada is CAD $104,000 - CAD $193,200 per year.

Responsibilities:
Build tools, systems, infrastructure, and automation to help in the development, deployment, and testing/debugging of machine learning models and systems.
- Create web tools and dashboards to aid and increase efficiency in development, debugging, devops, exploration of large language models, and more.
- Build both the front end and backend of web tools and other systems.
- Work on large-scale pipelines to automate large language model or data processing jobs over huge amounts of data.
- Create automation systems and tools to easy with the development, deployment, testing, and debuggining of machine learning systems.
