Retail Technology is responsible for the world-leading application of technology and operations across every aspect of CommBank and Bankwest Retail - from innovative product platforms for our customers, to essential tools within our business. We also use technology to drive simplicity and better banking, an essential component of great customer service underpinning a strong emphasis on software development as a craft and the adoption of industry best engineering practices.
You’ll be part of Home Buying technolgoy - Our focus is on people who either own a home or aspire to own a home. We are looking for engineers who want to bring an amazing customer experience to those people, and we have the team and backing to make it a reality. We want to remove friction from the home owning journey, and we believe your creativity and innovation can make it happen. With a focus on the Home Buying customer journey, you’ll be embedded into a cross functional squad that is self-managing with end-to-end responsibility.
As a Senior Software Engineer, you’ll be doing hands-on coding and be responsible for shaping the technical evolution of this system by contributing to end-to-end design, implementation, and delivery. You’ll be responsible for developing web experiences, APIs, microservices, backend integration components, and driving process improvements that add significant business value. You’ll also be invited to join our regular engineering guilds to provide technical guidance and mentoring to our junior members of the team.

TECH SKILLS:

We use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. We don’t expect you to know them all but experience or exposure with some of these will set you up for success in this team:

  • Strong hands-on experience with the technologies like C#, ASP.NET, .NET Core
  • Sound knowledge of large-scale distributed systems, Microservices and Rest API Integration
  • JavaScript frameworks - Angular, React
  • Databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, Mongo DB, Aurora DB
  • Public cloud engineering (AWS/Azure) and experience using Cloud native capabilities
  • CI/CD pipelines - TeamCity, GitHub Actions
  • Logging Monitoring tools - Splunk, CloudWatch, AppDynamics
  • Integration using Kafka - preferred
