PagerDuty is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our diverse, customer-focused team! As a Senior Software Engineer you will join us to accelerate on delivering an ambitious roadmap of highly requested and revenue-generating features, as well as to ensure the highest standards of customer trust in our operations. This is an exciting opportunity to have high visibility and tackle technical challenges, giving opportunities to collaborate with a variety of other roles and teams at PagerDuty. The ideal candidate has strong Full-Stack experience working with React or other modern frontend frameworks, as well as a backend language such as Python, Java, JavaScript, Elixir, Ruby, etc.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 6+ years of experience, with at least 1-2 years of experience on the back end
  • Experience with React or other modern frontend framework
  • Experience of at least one modern programming backend language such as Python, Java, JavaScript, Elixir, Ruby, etc

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with TypeScript
  • Experience working on Business to Business Software as a Service products
  • Experience working on high-scale systems
  • Track record of mentoring earlier career engineers
  • Experience with AWS cloud ecosystem
    The base salary range for this position is 123,000 - 180,000 CAD. This role may also be eligible for bonus, commission, equity, and/or benefits.
    Our base salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range, which is subject to change based on primary work location, reflects the minimum and maximum base salary we expect to pay newly hired employees for the position. Within the range, we determine pay for an individual based on a number of factors including market location, job-related knowledge, skills/competencies and experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Designing, coding, testing and shipping user interfaces and APIs to ensure we deliver secure, highly reliable and scalable products
  • Collaborating with Product Management to refine features and plan for their execution
  • Own and operate what we build, ensuring long term service health
  • Work with a wide range of systems, processes, and technologies to build solutions that solve customer problems, including crossing team or repository ownership boundaries where needed to get the job done
  • Participating in our team’s on-call rotation, triaging and addressing production issues as they arise
