Responsibilities:
ABOUT THE ROLE
You will be responsible for co-managing the Engineering function, providing hands on leadership to a developing team. The Engineering function spans from Software Engineering, Software Testing, Systems Engineering and Solutions Architecture. Day to day your duties will also include:
- Support the management of multiple sub-teams within Engineering, guiding them in developing and executing strategic initiatives and operational plans.
- Strengthen interfaces with other departments through proactive communication and collaboration to ensure cohesive project execution.
- Implement agile methodologies to optimise development efficiency, product delivery, and adaptability to changing requirements, ensuring continuous value delivery.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance software development processes and productivity, setting and maintaining high standards for coding, code reviews, testing, and deployment.
- Stay abreast with the latest advancements in software development and identify opportunities to leverage them to improve our processes.
- Design technical architectures that align with business needs, objectives, and compliance standards.
- Represent Perspectum in early-stage partnerships and technical discovery activities, showcasing our capabilities and fostering new opportunities.
- Act as the point of contact and decision-maker in the absence of management, ensuring seamless project continuity.
- Maintain a long-term vision of Perspectum’s services platform and develop an architecture roadmap that aligns with our business objectives.
To be successful in this role you will be an experienced software engineering leader, preferably from a similar industry. You will have a strong grounding in software development across cloud and on-device application domains, within a commercial environment. You will also have in depth experience with cloud computing, ideally AWS. Your skills will include:
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and lead cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain technical solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong organisational and prioritisation skills.
- Creative problem-solving skills, with motivation of solving business problems.
- Proficiency in agile methodologies and continuous improvement practices.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
- Strategic thinker with a long-term vision for software platform development.
- Ability to represent the company in external technical discussions and partnerships
