Based in their Wellington Office, you will be a trusted adviser to numerous employers in both the public and private sectors, in New Zealand and internationally. They partner with their clients to provide support throughout the employment lifecycle, so you will be involved in the full breadth of employment law issues with a good balance across contentious and non-contentious matters. Work scope will include:

  • Drafting clear, plain English HR policies, employment agreements and contractor arrangements
  • Personal grievances and disputes
  • Restructuring and redundancy
  • Performance management
  • Disciplinary investigations and dismissals
  • Enforcing restraints of trade
  • Industrial relations, unions, and collective bargaining
  • Remuneration and employee incentive schemes
  • Health and safety
  • Immigration law
  • Privacy and data protection
  • Employment aspects of corporate transactions
  • Broader investigations, including conduct and culture,, health and safety, fraud, whistle-blower complaints, and white-collar crime
  • Appearing as counsel in mediations and before the Employment Relations Authority, the Employment Court and the appellate courts.

This role is full-time but flexible work options will be considered, including part-time.
